A great deal of our work involves supporting cross-sector and cross-industry networks and partnerships. With a diminishing role for the Public Sector and the knock-on impact of reduced funding for the voluntary sector it would seem that pooling investment at a local level is the best way to maximise impact. Business also has an important role to play in such partnership as it is dependent on a stable civic environment and healthy communities.
Private sector and cross-sector funding forums have been around for a number of years but are not widespread. The premise is that if funders and investors from all sectors work together in a locality they can:
- Share knowledge about social issues and keep up to date with social change
- Increase understanding of current funding and policy trends
- Identify and encourage best practice in grant-making or social investment
- Understand each other better and work intelligently together
- Be more efficient and increase leverage on investment
- Promote innovation in funding
- Be a channel for dialogue between funders and the social sector
However such partnerships are often more complicated than they first seem. Even those built around a single initiative can require careful stewarding as a result of differing outlooks and operating methods. Through our extensive cross-sector experience Corporate Impact is pleased to play a role in supporting such activities. We work closely with all member to build understanding , translate culture and language, and creating a neutral space where ideas can be discussed openly and preconceptions challenged productively.
To enable collaborative partnership, forums, and networks we offer:
- Support and Advice
- Facilitation
- Pro-forma documentation and tools
- Information Resources
- Secretariat service
- Investment Programme co-ordination and management
